SNEC PV POWER EXPO (SNEC) has agreed a strategic partnership with Photovoltaics International/PV-Tech.org that will see the publication attain the highest media partnership level possible with the organisers of the prestigious event in 2012. SNEC has become the largest PV-related conference and exhibition in China, and as Platinum Media Partner and Exclusive Conference Special Media Partner, Photovoltaics International will take this opportunity to further its rapid expansion into China.

The agreement was signed at the recent Intersolar Europe conference and exhibition in Munich, Germany by Ms. Mi Yue, Executive Vice Chairman of Shanghai New Energy Industry Association (SNEIA), organiser of SNEC, and David Owen, CEO of Solar Media Ltd. Cathy Li, Photovoltaics International’s Asian Markets Business Development Manager, initiated the deal and will work closely with SNEC on overseeing all of the deliverables of the agreement.

“This agreement with SNEC marks an important step in the global development and furthering of the Photovoltaics International/PV-Tech brand", said David Owen. "China is at the heart of the PV manufacturing industry and so we are delighted to have attained this Platinum Media Partner status and look forward to collaborating with SNEC on this hugely important global event”.

Taking place from May 16th to 18th, 2012, next year’s SNEC conference and exhibition looks set to break its own attendance records once again, having hosted 1,838 exhibitors from both China and overseas installed across Shanghai New International Expo Center’s 13 halls of 150,000m2 and over 8,500 booths. With more than 180,000 visitors logged as attending the 2011 show, Photovoltaics International is proud to be a major part of the industry’s most crucial of events for 2012, the title of which is “Let’s Gear Up for the New Era of Solar Energy”.

SNEC’s exhibition categories take in the entire supply chain, from production equipment to components and from solar materials to PV projects and system integrators. The event, which is approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, is jointly organized by 15 international associations and organizations, including the Chinese Renewable Energy Society (CRES), Shanghai Federation of Economic Organizations (SFEO), Shanghai New Energy Industry Association (SNEIA), European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).

Past events have drawn interest from a range of attendees including Mr. Linhao Chen, the Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Dept., Ministry of Science & Technology and Mr. Zhipeng Liang, the Deputy Director General of Renewable Energy Dept., National Energy Bureau.

Conference delegates of the 6th International SNEC PV Power Generation 2012 event will receive an exclusive SNEC edition of the Photovoltaics International journal in their delegate bags, while the exclusive media partnership will play its part in furthering Photovoltaics International’s global reach as the most reputable source of technology developments across the entire PV manufacturing supply chain. Solar Media Ltd. has been operating in China since 2009 and operates the leading Chinese-language PV technology site www.pv-tech.cn and a Chinese-language quarterly magazine.
